CLEANING AND RESTORATION OF OLD TAPESTRY SEATS | in Paris

Restoration technique of tapestry seats:

We take care of the removal of seat upholstery, whether Aubusson tapestries,

Tapestry of Beauvais, tapestry in small point, tapestry of Flanders .......................................................... to be able to preserve and restore the "trimmings" of armchairs, chairs or sofas.

In our workshop, the seat upholstery - seats, cuffs and backrests - removed from their supports are laid flat, dusted and then cleaned like an old tapestry.

To preserve the fragile parts and to be able to work properly, we sew a fabric (the bisonne cloth) behind the fragile or damaged tapestries.

After the tapestries have been completely restored, the cloth that has preserved the tapestry will allow the upholstery to be put on without damaging the tapestry.

This meticulous work is guaranteed by our restorers and under the watchful eye of the CNE-approved expert and member of the Syndicat National des Antiquaires.
